The Doll House: An Open RPG

"You wear the tie because it never occurred to you not to. You eat eggs every morning but never at night. You feel excitement and companionship when rich men you've never met put a ball through a net. You feel guilty, maybe a little suspicious, every time you see that Salvation Army Santa. You look down for at least half a second if a woman leans forward. And your stomach rumbles every time you drive by a big golden arch even if you weren't hungry before. Everybody's programmed, Boyd."

The Dollhouse is an underground facility where the very rich and very powerful can buy a fantasy and make it real...for a little while. They say those who choose to become 'dolls' do so willingly, signing a contract to stay for five years within a certain House. But what sort of people would be persuaded to sign their lives away? And what kind of people would need a fantasy badly enough to solicit the services of the Dollhouse?

The Dollhouse is an open roleplaying game based on the plot of Joss Whedon's tv. series Dollhouse with a few twists. Characters who arrive as 'dolls' or 'actives' will retain their own personalities when they aren't off on engagements, their room and board (and personal massages) all provided by the House, their contracts set for five years after which they can walk out of the facility a whole lot richer and happier than when they entered. It seems like a pretty sweet deal, especially considering what got you into the Dollhouse to begin with. However, the technology that allows personalities to be programmed is still in its experimental stage. Glitches do happen, and they have a tendency to get...messy.
